Feet in the Baltic Sea in Tallinn, Estonia

To me, home is many things.  Home is Southern California, where I was born, where my first memories are.  Home is Dallas, Texas, where I lived from 7-24 years old – certainly the “formative years” of life.  When I “go home to visit my parents” I go to Little Rock, Arkansas.  Home is Charlotte, North Carolina, my current permanent address.

Right now, though, home is Western Finland.  In February, 2012, my husband had the incredible opportunity to work here, so he and I packed up and moved, excited about the chance to live in Europe as ex-pats.  We love all the experiences it allows us, including learning a new culture, meeting wonderful people, and traveling through Europe.  It’s not always easy, but together we have fun!

I write, I cook, and I’m learning more about photography, so you’ll see a lot of those things on here.  But I blog mostly to keep family and friends up to date on what’s going on in our lives.  I also love connecting with the other bloggers who pop in here.  I hope one of my blog posts will inspire someone to visit Finland, or help someone who might be facing the same problems, or make someone laugh and nod their head in agreement, or teach someone something new.

Life is full of surprises, some good, some bad.  Both provide life lessons, if you’re willing to learn.

Embrace Life.

Be Inspired.

Why did you guys move here?

    • My husband works for an international company, and there was an opportunity to move here. It was a great move for him career-wise, and an amazing opportunity in general to be able to live abroad.

  2. Hello from Turku! My American guy moved here last month, and now we are settling down here, at least for now. 🙂 I’m born and bred Finnish but from the East, so we are both new to the coast. If you would like to read about us, I blog at http://www.arctic-post.blogspot.com Have a beautiful weekend, hope the rain eases out at some point! 🙂

What do *you* have to say?
